Blue & Gold Banquet

Friday, February 4th

6:30pm - 8:00pm

@ St. John Neumann Catholic Church

The Blue and Gold Banquet is a celebration of the birthday of Scouting. The Scouting movement in the U.S. began in 1910 on February 8th and was modeled after the organization that Lord Baden Powell created in Britain in 1908. Since then the BSA has provided a program that gives youth the tools to become great leaders.

Pack 1833 will celebrate this occasion with a Pizza Party and a NAILED IT! style cupcake decorating contest. (sign up using the Google Form on this page).

Pizza Party

Our celebration will begin with dinner at 6:30pm. The Pack will have Pizza (cheese, pepperoni, and supreme), salad, garlic bread, and beverages available for a cost of $10 per family. You are welcome to bring your own meal if you prefer.

Cupcake Decorating Contest

Every Cub Scout is encouraged to participate in the cupcake decorating contest! This will be a family affair, so siblings and parents are welcome to decorate their own cupcakes too! We want everyone to HAVE FUN! Remember this is a project for the kids! The adults should be there to assist, but let the kids have fun creating something wonderful.

Information & Rules

  1. Each participant may decorate 2 cupcakes - One cupcake will be a specified theme: Superhero Cupcake; the other should be decorated in a Patriotic, Cub Scout, or Blue & Gold design. (See example pictures below.)

  2. Cupcakes must be decorated during the meeting. It is recommended that you pre-plan your decoration designs.

  3. The Pack will provide undecorated, store-bought cupcakes for you to use in the contest. However, you may bake your own cupcakes if you prefer, but they must be ready to decorate before the event begins.

  4. You will need to provide all decorating materials for your cupcake designs. You may use pre-made icing and edible decorations.

  5. Crackers, cookies, candy, and other solid foods may be used for decorations.

  6. The entire cupcake, including decorations, must be completely edible. For example, there should not be toothpicks stuck into the cupcake to help form the decorations. You could however use pretzel sticks!

  7. You will have 15 minutes during the meeting to decorate each of your cupcake designs. (30 minutes total)

  8. We will have 2 special Judges who will attend the Blue and Gold Event.

  9. A cupcake may be judged in only one award category and the cupcake’s appropriate category will be selected by the judges.
