Blue & Gold Banquet
Tuesday, March 21st
6:00pm - 7:30pm
@ St. John Neumann Catholic Church
The Blue and Gold Banquet is a celebration of the birthday of Scouting. The Scouting movement in the U.S. began in 1910 and was modeled after the organization that Lord Baden Powell created in Britain in 1908. Since then the BSA has provided a program that gives youth the tools to become great leaders.
Pack 1833 will celebrate this occasion with a pot luck dinner (sign up by clicking the image at the bottom of this page) and an epic cake contest (sign up using the Google Form on this page).
This year's Blue and Gold theme will be Video Games!
Cake Baking Contest
Every Cub Scout is encouraged to enter a cake in the cake decorating contest! The Cub Scout and an adult should plan, bake and decorate their cake together. Pick one of the categories below and HAVE FUN! Remember this is a project for the kids! The adult should be there to assist, but let the kids have fun creating something wonderful.
Rules
Cake check-in will take place from 5:30 – 6:00pm.
Judges will be picked during the Blue and Gold Event
Do not put any names or den numbers on the cakes. You will be issued a number for your cake when you check-in.
The entire cake must be completely edible. For example, there should not be wooden dowels stuck inside the cake to help form the cake. You could however use pretzel sticks!
No store bought cakes. You may use boxed cake mixes, icing mixes or pre-made icing and decorations but you must mix and decorate your own cake.
Crackers, cookies, candy and other solid foods may be used for decorations.
A cake may be judged in only one award category and the cake’s appropriate category will be selected by the judges.
