Pack 1833 End of Summer Picnic and Model Rocket Launch

To celebrate the end of summer, we will have a Model Rocket Launch and Pot-Luck Picnic on Saturday August 24th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Powhatan Middle School in the rear where the sports fields are located.

Rocket inspections will begin at 10:00am and launching will begin around 10:30am. Each participant will need to bring their own model rocket. They can be purchased from various retailers like Hobbytown USA or Walmart. Hobbytown will likely be able to answer questions if you have any. The rockets should be assembled prior to the event. Be aware that a typical rocket will take some time to assemble and finish, please don't start working on it the night before. Be sure to purchase the appropriate engines for your rocket and bring three as we will aim to launch each rocket three times. Our launch field is approximately 650 ft.

Please bring a dish to share. The Pack will provide Hot Dogs, Buns, Condiments, and Drinks.
